Cold sores begin with a tingling sensation on or around the lips. The tincture and salve should be used more aggressively at this stage, to try and keep them from erupting. The antiviral action of the herbs in this salve can ease the discomfort and shorten the duration of the outbreak.
STEP ONE: TINCTURE
apply as soon as tingling sensation is felt, and for duration of outbreak.
topical use: saturate a cotton swab with the tincture, and dab onto the cold sore at least four times per day.
internal use: one dropper full several times per day
STEP TWO: SALVE
apply numerous times per day, including after applying the tincture, to help fight infection, and keep lips hydrated. Ensure you apply with clean fingers or cotton swabs, and avoid ‘double dipping’, to prevent contamination.
Store in cool, dark place. Tincture lasts indefinitely if stored properly. Salve keeps fresh for 12 months (or more) if stored properly.
